How to tie Kaino kuchi musubi(Shell shaped tie)貝の口結び

1. 

   First adjust the length of the left side of the Obi so that the end of the Obi goes just past the knee.

   帯をふた巻きします。貝の口の場合、両サイドの帯の長さが違います。左手側は脇から約50cmに調整しましょう。

2. 

   Next take the right side of the Obi and wrap it around your waist. Make sure the right side of the Obi goes under the left side of the Obi when you wrap it around your waist.

   右手側の帯は、約55cmの長さになるように、内側にふたつに折りたたみます。

3. 

   Then pull tightly on the right side of the Obi until it fits snugly around your waist.

   右手に持っている帯（二重になっている方）を、下から上へ引き抜いて結びます。

4. 

   After that fold the right side of the Obi (as in the picture) until it is just a little bit longer than the left side of the Obi. Next tie the Obi, making sure the position is at a 120° angle.

   二重になっている方を写真のように折ります。矢印のような美しい角度にしましょう。

5. 

   After that fold the bottom side of the Obi in half, as in the picture. Tuck the bottom side of the OB into the mouth of the shell, as in the position. Pull the bottom side of the Obi all the way through the mouth of the shell.

   3で結んだまま右下側になっている帯端の幅を半分に折り、その帯先を持ち左上に折り上げ、4で折り曲げた中を通します。

6. 

   Then position the upper part of the Obi directly in front of you. Fold the upper part of the Obi, as in the picture, making sure the angle is 120°. Finally hit the shell to flatten it.

   ここでのポイントは、帯幅が細い方をあまり引っ張りあげすぎないこと。締めすぎると、貝が舌を出したような形にはなりません。
